History of the YWCA Breast Cancer Awareness Cookbook
This project has been raising awareness in our community since 2002 when the first cookbook was published. Each year we think of a fun theme and include breast health facts, educational information, screening guidelines, personal stories and more.
We ask community members to submit recipes to help create the cookbook. There is also the opportunity to dedicate recipes in honor or memory of loved ones that have battled breast cancer. The cookbooks are distributed for free during the month of May in honor of Mother’s Day. They make a great gift for the special women in your life!
The cookbook project was originally started by the Marion County Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening Program, who published the books from 2002-2005.
